so orange

I haven’t juiced in about a week, out of laziness + lack of veggies that I’m not planning on using for lunch or dinner.

A few things I seemed to have an abundance of today, were oranges + carrots, which sounded like the perfect combo.  This time I peeled the oranges, which definitely helped with the bitterness issue I had last time.

A spicy kick from ginger is always welcome in my glass.

These photos are edited, but not color enhanced.  This juice was the most vibrant orange….ever!

This was such a simple but refreshing combination, especially if you are new to juicing.

Holy Vitamin A, Batman!!

I had carrot + apple + ginger juice today, and it was amazing! I love the zing that the ginger adds!

oOHH! Super looking! I love orange foods (squash, sweet potato....that's it) so I bet I'd like that :D Come summer, it's time for me to uncover my juicer methinks...

Holy moly, that's orange! I'll just have to take your word for how good this was---no juicer for me :(

I haven't juiced in a while due to lack of veggies too - but I have those ingredients!!

well, only two oranges that are supposed to last us all week. Can you juice a banana!? We have lots of those.

Wow! I'm not sure I've seen anything so orange in my life! I would have loved to just try a sip to see what "orange" tastes like.

Beautiful colors! I've never juiced and this looks enticing!!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDebbie B. (DebaRooRoo)

I love the addition of ginger. I might be inclined to dirty my juicer for this one-it's gorgeous!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMaryea @ Happy healthy mama

LOVE carrot juice. When Costco wasn't selling the organic carrots in bulk, I opted for the carrot juice they carry, and that was just as good. :) It helps when I get a little lazy.

That color is so amazing!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJenna

Haha, I laugh at the thought of juicing a banana. Let me know if you have luck with that! :)

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNamaste Gurl

I drank that combo yesterday, since I feel a cold coming on. Perfect juice pairing if you're feeling under the weather- chock full of vitamin C and beta carotene. Lurve it.

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNamaste Gurl

I LOVE that flavor combination and color! I roasted sweet potato wedges with orange, ginger and turmeric...it was so good!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSarena (The Non-Dairy Queen)

What Juicer do you use? This vibrant orange color is making me crave SPRING

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkelly

Such a pretty color - I bet it was good too :)

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered Commentermy little celebration

That is the most beautiful shade of orange!!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLauren

I always get carrot/orange juice at Jamba Juice. So delicious...especially because I don't have to clean the juicer.

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMama Pea

what BEAUTIFUL juice! :)

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered Commentersarah (sarah learns)

ooooh pretty! I'll take an 8oz glass please! =)

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJenn L @ Peas and Crayons

My favorite blender juice at the moment is fresh pineapple, mint, young Ginger & a little water - sooooo refreshing & can add a few frozen raspberries to make it icy cold. Yum!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKathie

yum! this looks delicious! i've been smoothie-ing it up lately on a cleanse, I'll have to try adding in orange juice to my combo!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterlauren @ spiced plate

I can't get enough California oranges right now. They are so good. I hadn't thought of adding ginger- thanks for the tip.

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMary www.roslynliving.com

Gorgeous! I want/need a juicer, and when I get one, I'm going to try this combo first. My mom is obsessed with carrot juice, so I remember trying it an a very early age. Mmmm.

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDorry

That juice is gorgeously orange! I don't have a juicer, but if I did this is one I would want to try.

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJulia

I still have never used fresh ginger in my smoothies, but I think I might take the plunge. I love your concoction - so healthy!!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJenn@slim-shoppin

I love juicing carrots...it's the best shade of orange ever!

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

Holy gorgeous. That second shot with the drops on the straw? Stunning. You have such an amazing talent!

Oh, and the juice looks OK, too. ;)

February 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterCaitlin

LOVE the colour of your juice! I've been hooked since I got my juicer a little over 2 weeks ago too. Yesterday I made a juice out of grapes, carrots, lemon & Romaine and the result was a rainbow! Seriously, the glass was layered in different colors, so cool.

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSabine @ thefruitpursuit

That really does sound perfect for a first round of juicing... not too crazy and nice sweet flavors!

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterChristin@purplebirdblog

This is the prettiest drink EVER! :)

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHolly

I LOVE this juice! I only recently began juicing and this has been my combo every. single. day. since I bought my Breville. I do add an apple (usually Pink Lady though this week I bought Braeburn; will not use Fuji again, too grainy) and sometimes lemon juice, which adds an interesting pucker to the sweetness of the carrots/apples and then it is all followed up with a back-of-the-throat-kick of ginger. Yum.

PS: I got all crazy one day and added spinach as well...my first 'semi-green' juice. :)

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMIchelle

Stellar orange juice!

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDavid LaChapelle

Thanks girlie..you're too kind!

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

Wish I could come over and make juice for you right now!!

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

hahahaa...I'm picturing squeezing a banana for juice and it's cracking me up!

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

Have you made any banana juice yet?? hehehe

February 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

I just ordered that exact combo from a juice bar this a.m. and mine looked as vibrant as yours. Soooo good!!

I've been meaning to ask you if you are happy with your juicer selection. I'm in the market and wondered if you wish you had picked a higher model (ie, the juice fountain plus) or if you are still glad you decided on the compact. Any regrets or tips for me?

February 24, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTracy

yumm!!! sounds great...boy my feet would REALLY orange if i drank that!!

February 24, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterteenagehealthfreak

SO funny...I just went back to an old post and found the photos of the amazing pecans you sent me!!!! :)

February 24, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAshley

YES! I love it...I've never used another but have found zero issues with this one. My only half-complaint is that when you put the veggie/fruit in the shoot, it spits some of the pulp out before you're able to slide the tamper in. I'm not sure how other machines work in that regard, but it's really not a big deal. :) Just keep a wet towel around!
