There’s a really good giveaway happening today.

I’m pretty particular when it comes to accepting items to review and giveaway on the blog.  I try to make sure it fits with the way I eat and is also something you would be interested in and maybe haven’t seen before.

The Good Bean contacted me awhile back and asked if I wanted to check out their products.  I had seen them in stores but had yet to give them a try.  I’m definitely all about the beans, so I figured why not?  I looked at their website before accepting the products and was happy to see this is a non-GMO company and they also use Fair Trade certified ingredients.

They have 2 products right now, in a variety of flavors.

First, the crunchy-baked chickpeas.  And oh man are they crunchy!  You know how when you make them at home they lose their crunch after the first day?  Well, not these!  They are absolutely awesome added on salad or just eaten by the handful.  Chris and I found ourselves grabbing these to snack on instead of our usual go-to tortilla chips.

Flavors include:

  • sweet cinnamon : lightly sweetened with sugar and loads of cinnamon
  • black pepper : a little bit of salt but loaded with a spicy peppery bite
  • sea salt : loaded with delicious sea salt our favorite!
  • smoky chili + lime : packed with smoky flavor and a bit kick of heat pictured on the salad

No preservatives and also baked, not fried.  Win!

Next up are their fruit & no-nut bars, filled with chickpeas!

Chickpeas in a granola bar may sound weird, but they totally won me over.  Almost the texture of puffed/crisp rice but thicker.  The beans are an awesome addition and add a good amount of protein + fiber.

I love that they aren’t too sweet and have a fantastic crispy texture.  It’s also nice to see a lower calorie bar [130 cals] that still packs in a good amount of protein + fiber [5g of each] without adding powders, inulin, etc.

Beans are awesome! I actually like them plain(boiled)with rice and veggies for dinner or in a salad for lunch. I've also have wanted to try baking them into healthy brownies/bars.

I'm vegetarian, so beans are in EVERYTHING I make. Making a stew? Add beans. Dip? Add beans. Salad? Add beans. My favorite way to use beans, though, are in black bean brownies! Yummmmm!

I love to make black bean brownies! Beans made from scratch take awhile but it is so worth it! When I tried them for the first time I couldn’t believe the difference from beans in a can. They are delicious! I usually make a large batch so I have enough to make the brownies and chicken or fish tacos with black beans. Mmmmm =]

I like beans almost any way, but hummus is my favorite. I mainly use chickpeas for a classic hummus, but have some good variations with black beans or black-eyed peas. Agree that the Good Bean Chocolate Berry bar is the best of the three. I haven't had their roasted chickpeas.

Beans, beans the magical fruit. I love cinnamon + ginger + nutmeg roasted chickpeas as a snack, but most days I don't have the patience to wait for the oven to preheat and for those little guys to roast until crispy. Love the idea of grabbing an easy pack.

Lately I've been loving on my to-go sorority meals. They are always added to the salads and definitely make them better!
I'm a huge fan of The Good Bean products! I love eating roasted chickpeas as is or on top of salads for an added crunch... But I've been meaning to try them in a quinoa dish!

I have bookmarked your instructions for making beans in the crock pot, hopefully one day soon I will finally have it memorized... It's really not difficult... Anyway, I love making a vegetarian chili filled with beans!

My fave way to eat beans is so simple: navy beans cooked, with a bit of cooking liquid left, throw in some butter, salt, and pepper! So good! I haven't done this in a while so I may have to get on that :)

I love beans in all shapes, sizes, and colors; main dishes, stews, salads and snacking - these are my favorite ways to enjoy beans. I probably eat them 2-4 times per week...not to mention left overs :) "The Good Bean" sounds like a great product!

I love beans!! I roast chickpeas and used them for tacos or toss them in salads. Lentils are another favorite. I make lentil loaf or soup. Yummy!!

While the beans/lentils are stil warm, I pour a mixture of red wine vinegar, olive oil, and salt. Let the beans soak up the goodness and you've got a great lunch for the week!

Yesterday I had a salad with chickpeas on it and it was delicious! SO YUMMY. I also have been craving chili recently. I like to make mine vegetarian with TONS of veggies, beans, and heat. Mmm, I need to get a pot going soon.

Oh wow, I have never seen these, but I would totally buy to try. I love chickpeas and these look amazing!!
My favorite way to eat chickpeas is cooked, slowly to a super tender chickpea, then you simply add warm it to a bowl with some of the cooking liquid, add some salt and drizzle with olive oil (or a little butter). There is nothing better than soft, warm and tender chickpeas, it is so good! This is the favorite way, but then the next day I add them to my salads or roast them to take to school as a snack.
