10 things worth noting

1. Out of town guests love a hot breakfast accompanied by multiple nut butters.
2. I love cooking for out of town guests.
3. Behind the scenes tours at New Belgium Brewery are pretty rad.  Especially when you’re good friends with the guy giving the tour.
4. New Belgium reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The only thing missing are the everlasting gobstoppers.
5. Steamboat Springs, Colorado is magical.  And breathtaking.  And makes me feel like I’m dreaming.  Pinch me.
6. Snowboarding through trees in knee-deep powder = my happy place.
7. Bright colored ski jackets are where it’s at.
8. After a full day on the slopes your stomach will turn into a bottomless pit.  Cooking a taco feast with friends is the only answer to that problem.
9. Things are good.  No, wait.  They are pretty freaking great.
10. Tomorrow there will be cake.

Steamboat is one of my favorite places on EARTH. Meeker's roommate in college had a house there, and we used to go as much as much as humanly possible back (way back) in those days.

I recently found your site, and I've decided if I could have a personal chef, I'd choose you! Love your recipes. LOVE.
I'm a Colorado native (yes, I have the bumper sticker :)) but haven't lived there since 2005 (I've been in Pennsylvania, Uganda, and now Oregon). I will ALWAYS miss the Colorado mountains (summer, winter, spring, fall...doesn't matter--they always have something that calls to me). Your photos are making the Colorado hole in my heart ache. Ah!

@Adrienne - The snow was really bad early this season, so we've only been out a handful of times. Hence the lack of ski posts. :) Glad you enjoy them, though!

i loooove steamboat springs!! went there every other year growing up + it's just a breathtakingly beautiful place! i learned to snowboard there as a kid!! and if you're into snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, vista verde is a super fun place to go! enjoy enjoy!

@Amanda - Colorado is a great place to visit! There more breweries per capita in Ft. Collins than anywhere else in the country. I think there are 13 total! Pretty nuts.
